We are starting 2015 off very busy in the lab learning new things!
Now that Kindergarten and Pre-K have perfected Mouse use, including drag and drop, they are being introduced to the keyboard, and the correct way to Touch Type.
The 1st graders are learning that math can be SUPER FUN with Sumdog and continuing to practice the skill of remembering and using usernames and passwords correctly to sign in (a skill they'll use for many years to come.)
While 2nd grade is practicing their typing skills and typing faster than ever, our 3rd and 4th graders are learning the tools they will need for the new Missouri statewide assessment called Smarter Balanced - which will now be given online. :) This is where our years of touch typing practice, drag and drop, page navigations, cause and effect and problem solving in the lab will be put to great use and come in handy!
Each year I try new things with younger students and each year they show me that they are ready for the challenge! There is definitely a first time for everything, and the fun part of my job is the students love learning new things in the lab!
